June 21, 2009 (WAM) -- Dreams of Keralites for securing educational opportunities for their children have come true thanks to a joint humanitarian drive by the Sharjah Charity Society (SCS) and Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa's leading low-cost carrier (LCC). The SCS has inaugurated an educational institute in the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Mohammed Al Razi, Head of Projects, SCS, said the Dh 100,000 learning centre is part of SCS's plans for carrying humanitarian projects in different countries of the world, mainly in Africa and Asia.
''The project is a fruit of a joint partnership between the SCS and Air Arabia called Sehab Al Khair (Clouds of Good). Passengers traveling on Air Arabia planes are given charity envelops to donate money for humanitarian projects to be undertaken by the SCS,'' he added. A hospital was also built in Sudan under this partnership.
