Plans underway at the Environment ministry for training national cadre in the field of renewable energy

Jun 28th, 2009 (WAM): A coordinative meeting was held at the Dubai office of the Ministry of Environment and Water today for making preparations for the forthcoming training programme for nationals in the field of renewable energy. The training programme initiated by the ministry in collaboration with LG Electronics aims to develop national cadre in this vital field. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Maryam Al Shanasi, Adviser at the Ministry of Environment and Executive director for technical affairs and was attended by a number of officials from the ministry and LG Middle East.

To be held at the LG Electronics headquarters in South Korea, the training programme will analyse a number of researches in the field of environmental engineering, solar energy, and related technologies. The initiative is part of the ministry's efforts to enhance human resources and empower national cadre of UAE in the field of renewable energy. The ministry's initiative responds to an offer by LG Electronics to train UAE nationals in the field of environmental technology and related researches at its headquarters in South Korea. LG Electronics recently opened a research centre at Jebel Ali in Dubai fully dedicated to energy researches.
