King Abdullah II meets Mohammed Bin Rashid, leaves UAE

June 3rd, 2009: Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Wednesday received His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan at the Za'abeel Palace in Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed and King Abdullah discussed ways to further expand cooperation between the UAE and Jordan in various areas. They also discussed Arab and international efforts to push the Middle East peace process. Later Sheikh Mohammed hosted a banquet in honor of King Abdullah II and members of the accompanying delegation.

Present at the meeting and the banquet were H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, H.H Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Ghurair, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), H.H Sheikh Hashr Bin Maktoum Al-Maktoum, Director of Dubai Media Department, H.H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, sheikhs and senior officials, UAE Ambassador to Jordan and Jordanian Ambassador to the UAE Jamal Hamed Al-Shamayla.

Later this afternoon, the Jordanian Monarch left the UAE concluding his 2-day visit. He was seen off by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid, H.H Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid and senior officials.
