Jun 25th, 2009 (WAM)--The Eritrean Health officials have lauded the humanitarian efforts exerted by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women's Union and Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, to ease burden on the needy categories across the globe. "She is a beacon in the humanitarian arena due to her vast humanitarian efforts and full solidarity with the needy", they added. The Eritrean officials also hailed the humanitarian initiatives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority.

The remarks were made during reception of the Eritrean Health officials to the Zayed Charity Initiative teams, which are visiting Eritrea for the fourth time. The officials said, "The selection of Eritrea for the fourth time reflects depth of the bilateral relations between the UAE and Eritrea as outlined by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Eritrean President Asaias Afeworki". Eritrean Charge d' Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy in UAE Al Amin Yusuf, said that the initiatives of Sheikh Hamdan on provision of the treatment programme to the needy patients, "shows care paid by Sheikh Hamdan to this category." UAE national heart surgeon and chief executive of the Zayed Charity Initiative, Adil Al Shameri, said the surgery teams conducted 40 complicated surgeries to children suffering from deformities, among others, on an infant suffering blockage in the digestion system due to deformities.
