Written By WAM    Print   Email

Art Explosion is a colorful and singular collection showcasing artworks from a group of five international artists. Each one has a unique style, all together creating a very attractive art atmosphere not to be missed. Spanish artist José Antonio Antolí: a singular artist who works with metals and copper in innovative
ways, through his unique process of ‘painting’ with fire. Indian artist Anand Channar: his vibrant and expressive mixed-media works celebrate his unique and distinctive ethnic heritage. Canadian artist Cynthia ‘Reta’ Richards: her art remains rooted in her strong self-expression, her unique portrayal of the world round her and the world at large. Dutch artist Marianne Y. Naerebout: her expressive work is characterized by an explosion of colors which radiates a vibrating, positive energy. French artist Corine Pagny: her drawings and paintings are the result of her direct experimentation from dancing and moving models.

Art Couture gallery was established in 2007 and already features as one of Dubai’s art hubs, having hosted numerous successful art exhibitions. The gallery was founded on three simple premises: Firstly it addresses the fact that Dubai’s growing art scene requires dynamic art spaces to promote both established and amateur artists. Secondly, to offer visitors a thought-provoking viewer experience. And finally, to ensure that Art Couture’s growing patrons can continue to appreciate art through upcoming Art Couture spaces around Dubai. The Art Couture gallery concept is modelled on Dubai’s reputation as a cosmopolitan hub, its ambitious nature, visionary creations and its diverse cultures. Located in Jumeirah Beach Residence, right in the heart of ‘New Dubai’, Art Couture like the signature restaurants, luxury hotels and high end boutiques it rubs shoulders with a sophisticated meeting place, always striving to give its visitors something more. Art Couture hosts meaningful showings of contemporary art encouraging people to appreciate the world of select artists and sculptors from the region and around the world and to enjoy art as an essential part of the human experience.

The exhibition calendar for 2009 is full of excitement, featuring varied artists from all over the world. On permanent display and sale at Art Couture gallery is the work of Dubai based contemporary artist Cynthia ‘Reta ‘Richards. Her work offers a variety of different glimpses, always evoking a sense of discovery and wonder. While her paintings are highly personal in nature, each is also a colourful peek into her relationship with her environment and the unique way she interprets it metaphorically. Art Couture gallery invites you to visit and enjoy our exhibitions. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Besides stocking a selection of contemporary art, the gallery also sells postcards as well as books and magazines on art.
